Chicago Cubs Vs Washington Nationals
Chicago Vs Washington is turning out to be a great series. After three games, Chicago holds a 2-1 series lead with a chance to finish off the series tonight at home. The difference in each game has been very small, and Washington feels that they are still in this series and will be looking to take this series back to Washington for game five.
How did we get here? game one featured a pitching duel between Kyle Hendricks and Stephen Strasburg. Both pitchers went 7 innings, but it was Hendricks who ultimately won the battle and got a little help offensively from Bryant and Rizzo. The Cubs took Game 1 by a score of 3-0. Game two had a different kind of storyline. It was Contreras and Rizzo who both homered to help the Cubs to a 3-1 lead, a lead in which they took into the 8th inning. Bryce Harper connected on a 3-1 breaking ball and launched it to tie the game up at 3. Ryan Zimmerman followed it up with the go-ahead home run shortly after, sending the Nationals to a come-from-behind 6-3 victory. With the series tied 1-1, Game 3 was crucial. It was another low scoring pitching duel. Max Scherzer battled Jose Quintana in this one. With the game tied late, the star at the plate yet again was Anthony Rizzo, who knocked in the game-winning run to lift The Cubs 2-1. Rizzo has been a monster this series, he is heating up at just the right time.
