Game 5 ALDS: New York Yankees vs Cleveland Indians
We are heading back to Cleveland for game five following New York taking care of business on their home field. The home team has won every game in this series. Is that a coincidence, or is home field really that important? I’m expecting a very close Game 5 that will come down to the wire. No one wants to make a mistake in an all-or-nothing Game 5, I’m expecting both teams to be pretty conservative early.
Starters for ALDS Game Five: Sabathia vs Kluber
On the mound will be CC Sabathia vs Corey Kluber. This was the pitching matchup in game two, and I’m expecting both guys to be on top of their game. Kluber got knocked around for 6 runs in less than 3 innings in Game 2. He gets another chance tonight to display his Cy Young caliber stuff. Sabathia will be looking to end his former team’s season. Sabathia spent the first 7 plus seasons of his career in Cleveland. Even with both high powered offenses, I’m expecting a lower scoring game with these two guys on the mound.
X-Factors For Tonight
I’ve got one X-Factor player from each team to keep an eye on tonight. For Cleveland, I’m going with Jose Ramirez. Ramirez finished fourth in the AL in batting average this regular season and has been relatively quiet so far during this series. Look for the switch-hitter to finally break out tonight and perhaps be the difference. For New York, I’m going with Greg Bird. Bird was practically written off for the whole year, but he found a way to make it back late and has made his presence be known. He was the difference in Game 3 with a solo home run in the 1-0 victory. Look for Bird to make a difference again tonight behind the big bats of Judge and Sanchez. The winner of this tilt will get The Houston Astros.
