Detroit Red Wings(4-2-0) vs Toronto Maple Leafs(5-1-0)
Toronto is going back to back tonight vs Detroit, where Detroit is coming off a days rest. Toronto played a close one with Washington last night in which both teams registered 30-shots a piece, but Toronto ended up winning 2-0. In this back to back Toronto is going with the backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney to help aid the Leafs to their sixth win. The Red Wings have been one of the more surprising teams but face a tough matchup tonight, the Red Wings may be coming back down to earth, but we never know with the way the NHL has been this season. Detroit’s lackluster defense will be put a test tonight versus one of the best offenses in the league, Toronto 3-2.
Chicago Blackhawks(4-1-1) vs St. Louis Blues(4-2-0)
We have seen this matchup time and time again, in the regular season and the postseason for several years now. The Blackhawks top six will look to continue their hot streak vs another streaky offensive team. The first matchup of four between the two comes tonight, where we will see Corey Crawford vs Jake Allen. This game will have a playoff atmosphere and more than likely be kept close for most of the game. Blackhawks have been seeing consistent production all throughout the line up as the Blues have three to four guys chipping in for them, depth will play a factor here tonight. Blackhawks 4-3.
Montreal Canadiens(1-4-1) vs Los Angeles Kings(4-0-1)
It may have just slipped your mind but the Kings are still undefeated and have a great chance to keep that momentum going tonight vs the Canadiens. With the resurgence of Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar, the Kings have found themselves on a roll to start the season. Plus the impact of Jonathan Quick never hurt. The Canadiens have struggled immensely throughout their first six games and their top point scorer Jonathan Drouin has 5 points while their next top guy has 3 points, oh and that is Karl Alzner by the way. The Canadiens offense looks dead and in a game where Alec Martinez and the Kings have a healthy defense, it won’t come alive tonight. Kings, 3-1.
