NHL: Flyers V. Ducks Preview, 10/24

The Philadelphia Flyers are back in action tonight at 7 PM to face off against the Anaheim Ducks. The game will be the last of a five game homestand for Philadelphia, who have gone 3-1-0 in the first four of those contests.

Unfortunately for Philadelphia, both Ryan Getzlaf and Hampus Lindholm will be returning to the lineup tonight. Getzlaf, the Ducks’ captain, has only played in two games this season, missing the last three due to a lower-body injury. Lindholm has not played since Game 6 of the Western Conference Final last season, and it remains to be seen how much the defenseman will be used in his first game back. He had surgery on his shoulder during the offseason.

Washington Capitals v Philadelphia FlyersMore fortunate for the Flyers, defenseman Andrew MacDonald will not be in the lineup and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a lower-body injury that was sustained against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. Rookie Robert Hagg is expected to skate on the first pairing with Ivan Provorov. Jordan Weal is expected to miss his third straight game with an upper-body injury.
