Fish’s Five Free NFL Picks: Week 8

Five free picks in week 8 around the NFL.

Carolina Panthers (4-3) vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4)

Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers travel to Tampa Bay to face the Buccaneers this Sunday. Both teams have not started the season as they had hoped, both have had shades of success and brilliance but not consistently. The Buccaneers did not play badly last week in their close loss to the Bills, it was the cause of Shady McCoy finding the end zone for the first time this season and yet again later on in the game. The Buccaneers are better than their record appears and with the Jolly Roger with them, the Bucs will rally for a win on their home turf. Buccaneers

Atlanta Falcons (3-3) vs New York Jets (3-4)

Falcons against the Jets, yes, the Jets. Time to Jet up? The New York Jets are the best football team in the Meadowlands this season after pre-season rankings and projections had them finishing 0-16. The Jets appear to be for real with a record of 3-4 but they have a tough test against the former MVP Matt Ryan and the super bowl runner-ups Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are coming off a bad week where they got embarrassed again by the Patriots in primetime. Clearly, the Falcons are favored and with their recent offensive struggles it will be a close game but they will take this game. Falcons

Oakland Raiders (3-4) vs Buffalo Bills (4-2)

The Raiders are coming off a huge and roller coaster of a win last Thursday night against the Chiefs. Marshawn Lynch getting thrown out of the game, Cooper’s 210 receiving yards, and three flags all three coming with zero seconds on the clock allowing the Raiders to keep getting plays off. The Raiders showed the league that they are back to compete after the first six weeks had many questioning their ability to finish out the season strong. The Buffalo Bills are coming off a win against the Buccaneers at home as well. Both teams are rolling with tons of momentum. The toughest part to get around for the Raiders will be the home field advantage of the Buffalo Bills. If the Raiders continue to run the plays they did against the chiefs and air the ball out, they will succeed again. Raiders

Houston Texans(3-3) vs Seattle Seahawks (4-2)

One of the biggest surprises of the year is rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson and what he has been able to do for this Texans offense. The Texans are coming off a bye week as they should have plenty of rest entering the 12th man in Seattle. The Seahawks have been playing better however and it all starts with their quarterback in Russell Wilson. Wilson struggles the first couple of weeks in the season but as of late he has been phenomenal. The week rest for a young quarterback ready to get it going again will be enough to stop a good team in the Seahawks. Texans

Denver Broncos(3-3) vs Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

Monday night football has a great game on its hands this week. The Chiefs are looking for redemption after last weeks fiasco against the Raiders. The Chiefs have dropped two in a row now and all they can think about is getting back on track. The Chiefs did not play awful against the Raiders, it was mainly the unexpected and unstoppable Derek Carr and his great play. The Broncos are also looking for redemption from last week after being shut out against the Chargers. The Broncos, however, are struggling to keep a steady quarterback and there have been conflicts all year. Alex Smith is having a great season so far and the team with the better quarterback will win this game. Chiefs
