NHL: Flyers Shutout by Blackhawks, Postgame

In a rematch of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals Chicago welcomed Philadelphia. As the Flyers fell to the Blackhawks 3-0. While the entirety of the players on the ice last night were not battling for the 2010 Stanley Cup, much of the core of Chicago remained from that victory nearly eight years ago. Two of those, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, put up an assist and a goal respectively.

For the Flyers, the orange and white out-chanced the Hawks for most of the contest, even though shots were even for both teams. Corey Crawford came up with some huge saves, got lucky on some others, and at the end of the night was perfect. Brian Elliott made 32 saves in the loss for the Flyers.

Radko-Gudas1Radko Gudas sustained an upper-body injury in the first period and missed the final two periods, while Shayne Gostisbehere missed the game with an upper-body injury as well. Philadelphia went 0-3 on the power play, and their concerning lack of scoring-depth up-front was on full display again last night, getting minimal contribution outside of the first line over the past three games.

The Flyers are back in action tonight in St. Louis against the 10-2-1 Blues.
