New York Rangers(9-8-2) vs Columbus Blue Jackets(11-7-1)
New York +125 vs Columbus -145 over/under 6
The Rangers ended their six-game win streak the other night vs Chicago in a 6-3 loss. It looked like the old Rangers from the beginning of the year and things do not get easier as they are facing one of Metro’s top teams, Columbus. Recently signed Cam Atkinson will look to put his $5.75 mil a year contract to work. Another poor sign for New York was their power play Wednesday night, coming into the game that was one of their keys to success, unfortunately, they went 0/3 on top of getting outshot 43-28. The Blue Jackets have not been all that successful at home this season, posting a 5-4 record, and the Rangers are 2-3 on the road this year. The series is split at one apiece, as this will be the third of four meetings between the two. The Rangers lost in Columbus the first meeting, and won at home, so the home teams seem to be favorites among these two. Going Columbus, 4-2.
Buffalo Sabres(5-9-4) vs Detroit Red Wings(9-8-2)
Buffalo +125 vs Detroit -145 over/under 5.5
What a thunderous win for the Red Wings Wednesday night vs Calgary as the Wings erupted for eight goals, seeing a pair of goals from Andreas Athanasiou and Anthony Mantha, the two rookies who have been highly sought in the Red Wings system. The young guns of Detroit are looking to come alive this season, Dylan Larkin is having a much better season also. The Sabres are a very inconsistent team that compete but have difficulty closing out games, and with the Red Wings coming off a blowout win and the Sabres dropping one to Pittsburgh in overtime, this will be a tough game. Both teams match up quite well if Buffalo can seem some goaltending, then they can take this one but, I’m still leaning towards Detroit tonight. They are a young, explosive team that is confident right now. Detroit, 4-2.
