Florida Panthers(9-12-2) vs New York Rangers(13-9-2)
The Panthers head into Madison Square Garden against a red-hot Rangers team, on home ice the Rangers have won eight straight, and Henrik Lundqvist seems to not be aging one bit. Over the last five games, Lundqvist has allowed seven goals on 269 shots and has collected a win in four straight starts. The Panthers are coming off a big win vs New Jersey Monday night and will be going back-to-back to complete the tri-state area tour. The Panthers are a team where nobody knows what to expect anymore. Honestly, this team for all I know could come out and bury five or not even score. Way too inconsistent for me. On the bright side, Roberto Luongo collected his 200th win with Florida making him the second goalie of all time to win 200 plus games with two franchises. But the Rangers won’t see Luongo in net tonight, I would imagine. Rangers on home ice and a hot Lundqvist, going Rangers.
Vancouver Canucks(11-9-4) vs New York Islanders(14-7-2)
It really is hard to go against the Islanders as of late which is why I am not doing it, the Islanders offense has been hot and they are on home ice. Now, Vancouver could probably steal a game here but I do not see it happening. Stick with the Islanders tonight, ride the hot hand and collect a win.
Los Angeles Kings(13-8-3) vs Detroit Red Wings(10-9-5)
This is a tough one because both teams need to get back in the win column, the Kings started off hot but dropped six of their last ten, the Red Wings are a young team who are contending for a playoff spot as of now. The Kings if they want to stay afloat in that Pacific division, need to start getting back on the right side of things. Tonight I’m leaning towards the Kings just because they are due for a big road win. Jonathan Quick ready to steal one tonight? I think so. Kings, go.
Arizona Coyotes(6-17-3) vs Edmonton Oilers(9-13-2)
If you’re Edmonton you have to be thinking that this game could be a shift in momentum for the year, they win this game they are below .500 by three games and start to slowly creep up in the standings. The Oilers must win this one tonight and I’m sure they will, Connor McDavid will take over tonight and help his team win this game like every game. Arizona is not an easy write-off but if you are Edmonton and in their position, there is no way they lose this game. Edmonton tonight.
Dallas Stars(12-10-1) vs Vegas Golden Knights(15-6-1)
These two faced off for the first game of the year where Vegas had an electric come from behind third-period win. The series is 1-0 Vegas with this and one more game to be played. If you told me earlier in the year that William Karlsson and Jonathan Marchessault would have the same or equal amount of points as Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, I would have taken a 9 iron to your skull. Well here we are 24 games in and Karlsson, Marchessault are leading the team and look to be on a mission this season. The Stars lack of depth scoring will come back to hurt them tonight, and with Malcolm Subban, back in the net(probably), the Golden Knights get one of the three goalies back. Vegas is a resilient bunch and have seen scoring from all over. On the road, I’m wary to take them, but at home with a 9-1 record, going Vegas tonight.
Other games on tonight
Lighting vs Sabres: A duh.
Sharks vs Flyers: For the love of god the Flyers need to win. Eight straight losses. This team will wake up and win tonight.
Hurricanes vs Blue Jackets: Yeah, easy one for me. Jackets.
Blackhawks vs Predators: Stay AWAY.
Leafs vs Flames: Uhhhhhhhhh, Leafs?
