Fantasy Hockey: Waiver Wire Adds of the Week

Another week goes by, which calls for another week of some fiery waiver wire additions. As the season continues on many teams go on a short break or only play perhaps one game a week, which can mean nightmares for your fantasy squad. Don’t worry though here are the top fantasy hockey waiver wire additions for the week!

Jacob Trouba: As Winnipeg continues this success, so will Trouba. The offense has been unbelievable and the power play has also been lights out. Trouba plays top defenseman minutes and sees ‘s power play two time. Also, this week Trouba and the Jets play three times, which means plenty of room for points and production. Three matchups, two which are favorable, but all three on the road. Trouba has 2 goals, 7 assists, 1 power play point and 65 shots on goal this season.

Ryan Nugent Hopkins: The Oilers are playing a tad better and so has RNH, in the last 14 days RNH has 2 goals, 2 assists and 15 shots on goal. The only downside I could see to this add is that he is a straight center position and plays only two times. One of the matchups being Philadelphia and Montreal being the other. Despite that, I like RNH right now and he has been quite impressive.

Adam Henrique: This one has to be a consideration, as the Ducks offensive injuries continue, Henrique will be seeing an increase in production, he will at least see more minutes as well. Since coming to the Ducks he has recorded a goal and an assist and is playing top-six minutes. This week Anaheim plays three times, one back to back and two home games. Two very favorable opponents today and Tuesday. Over the last 14 days, Henrique has 2 goals, 5 assists and on the year he has 5 goals, 11 assists. A player worthy of consideration at least.

Teuvo Teravainen: If Teravainen’s C, LW, RW slot is not enough to add him maybe the young forwards, 8 goals and 14 assists on the season will make you consider it. The only downside to this add is that Carolina is on the road for three games this week, and Teuvo has slowed down a tad, but it is worth the gamble due to his first line pairing with hot hand Jordan Staal and Sebastian Aho. I like this add, go for it.

Daniel Sedin: Sedin collected his 1,000th¬†point the other night and has been a serviceable player this season, his 6 goals, 10 assists, 6 power play points increase the stakes a bit. On top of that Vancouver plays two home games against weaker opponents and one road game against a rival team. I like Sedin’s upside, he plays the power play and top six minutes, plus in the last 14 days, he has tallied 3 goals and 5 assists. Worth the add for sure.

Kevin Fiala: This has been a lingering question of mine for quite some time now, whether or not I should add this guy, and it really looks like to be a decent add. Fiala is a LW, RW and plays top six minutes paired with Kyle Turris and Craig Smith, along with seeing power play two time. Fiala plays tonight and two more times this week, two games at home and three games that should be wins for the Predators. In the last 14 days, Fiala has scored 2 goals, along with 2 assists, 2 power play points and 19 shots on goal. I like his upside, go after him.
