Calgary Flames(14-12-1) vs Toronto Maple Leafs(17-10-1)
The Flames were that team that ended the Flyers losing streak, that loss has to hurt them and now things do not get easier as they head into Toronto for a cross Canada match up as they take on Toronto. Both teams are coming off a days rest and are healthy. I like the Flames, they have a pretty deep offense, and solid offense but at times they seem to just not click on certain nights, Toronto has not been a team that blows anyone out of the water, which is surprising. Toronto is 6-3-1 in their last ten and 8-5-0 at home, we have not seen Marner and Nylander raise their games since their slow start. Calgary is 4-5-0 in their last ten and 7-4-1 on the road. One team good on the road and another good at home. I’m going with Toronto tonight.
Chicago Blackhawks(12-10-5) vs Washington Capitals(16-11-1)
The Blackhawks have so much forward depth, they have four balanced lines, but they lack so much defensive depth and without Corey Crawford, they do not have a number one goaltender to rely on either. While the Capitals have two very solid lines, the Capitals top guns have been producing and their goaltending in Holtby has been their backbone all season. Both teams lack defensive depth and definitely not something that will make a difference in this game. The offenses will be at full throttle tonight and the Blackhawks could easily take two on the road. In the Blackhawks last ten, they are 4-3-3 and 6-5-3 on the road, while Washington is 6-4-0 in their last ten and 10-5-0 at home. Tonight I am going Blackhawks, good road victory I see.
Philadelphia Flyers(9-11-7) vs Edmonton Oilers(11-14-2)
The battle of the basement right now, as the Flyers are coming off a ten game losing streak and Edmonton has been playing better in recently this is a pivotal game for both teams. The Oilers must continue to stay afloat the wild card race and dropping to this team not only hurts their confidence but makes the climb back up harder. The Flyers really would like to get in the right direction but against a hungry Edmonton team, it will be tough. Flyers are 1-4-5 in their last ten and 5-5-3 on the road, as Edmonton is 5-5-0 in their last ten and 5-8-0 at home. I’m going Edmonton tonight. Take over, McDavid.
Ottawa Senators(9-10-6) vs Anaheim Ducks(11-11-6)
Talk about a struggling team, by God, the Senators are awful right now, since their Sweden trip they have won one game. In the last ten, they are 2-7-1, and Mark Stone just went down with an injury which does not help this struggling offense. If I am Ottawa I am starting to worry right now. The Ducks who have been riddled with injuries since the start of this season have not crumbled under pressure, they continue to stay afloat and are .500 right now. Getting Rickard Rakell back is big and Ondrej Kase is another good addition. With two top lines, a strong defense this team is just waiting for Getzlaf and their other forwards to return. In the last ten, the Ducks are 3-4-3 and post a 6-7-2 home record. Tonight I am going Anaheim.
