NFL Playoff Picture Heading into Week 14

* = First round bye

^ = Wild card

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers* (10-2)
  2. New England Patriots* (10-2)
  3. Tennessee Titans (8-4)
  4. Kansas City Chiefs (6-6)
  5. Jacksonville Jaguars^ (8-4)
  6. Baltimore Ravens^ (7-5)

Game scenarios as of now:

Wild Card Weekend-

Ravens @ Titans

Jaguars @ Chiefs

In the hunt:

Buffalo Bills (6-6)- …. Colts, Dolphins, @Patriots, @Dolphins

Los Angeles Chargers (6-6)- …. Redskins, @Chiefs, @Jets, Oakland

Oakland Raiders (6-6)- …. @Chiefs, Cowboys, @Eagles, @Chargers

What’s Changed?

Nothing has changed in the AFC playoff picture. All teams won except the struggling Chiefs, however they still possess the division lead in the AFC West.

I think the playoff picture will stay the same in the AFC except for the Chiefs. I think the Chargers are the best team in that division and they’ll pass the reeling Chiefs. Other than that, everything will stay the same in this unusually weak conference.

  1. Minnesota Vikings* (10-2)
  2. Philadelphia Eagles* (10-2)
  3. Los Angeles Rams (9-3)
  4. New Orleans Saints (9-3)
  5. Seattle Seahawks^ (8-4)
  6. Carolina Panthers^ (8-4)

Game Scenarios as of now:

Panthers @ Rams

Seahawks @ Saints

In the Hunt:

Atlanta Falcons (7-5)–…. Saints, @Buccaneers, @Saints, Panthers

Detroit Lions (6-6)–…. @Buccaneers, Bears, @Bengals, Packers

Green Bay Packers–…. @Browns, @Panthers, Vikings, @Lions

Dallas Cowboys–…. @Giants, @Raiders, Seahawks, @Eagles

What’s Changed?

The NFC is a little more interesting than the AFC this year. With a loss to the Vikings, the Falcons have fallen out of the playoff picture, and with their win against the Eagles, the Seahawks move up to the 5th seed.

The Panthers are still in the picture, but drop to the 6th seed.

And finally, what many people have probably noticed is that the Vikings are the new 1 seed in the NFC. They own the tiebreaker over the Eagles.

It’s going to be an exciting four weeks because all of these teams are tight, and could compete in the playoffs if they make it. Honestly I think the race that could go either way is between the Seahawks, Panthers, and Falcons. The Falcons have the toughest schedule remaining, playing the Saints twice.

Many people wonder if Brett Hundley can help the Packers stay alive until Rodgers (potentially) comes back, but let’s face it. Hundley just isn’t that good and it might already be too late for the 6-6 Packers to make it.
