New York Rangers(15-10-2) vs Washington Capitals(17-11-1)
The Rangers are coming off a big road win vs the Penguins the other night but the Capitals are currently on a three-game win streak and have been firing from all angles. The Capitals offense over the last three games has combined for a total of 14 goals, while only allowing 6 goals against. Over the last ten, the Capitals are 7-3-0 and post an 11-5-0 home record. The Rangers are without number one center Mika Zibanejad again tonight, and most likely Henrik Lundqvist will be ruled out due to missing last game(Tuesday) with the flu. The Rangers struggling center depth continues but they managed to pull away with one vs Pittsburgh the other night. In the last ten, the Rangers are 7-3-0 with a 4-5-0 away record. A big two points are needed from the Rangers tonight as the Metropolitan division race tightens.
Columbus Blues Jackets(17-10-1) vs New Jersey Devils(16-7-4)
The Devils beat the Blue Jackets on the road last week and now the tables have turned as the Blue Jackets travel to the rock for a road game vs the Devils. These two teams have steadily been a top the Metro division all season, but not by much. A much needed two points from these teams, but only one will come away with two. After the Penguins picked up a point last night they are currently one point from the Devils and Jackets. In the last ten, the Devils are 5-3-2 and post a 6-4-2 home record. As Columbus is 7-3-0 in their last ten with a 7-5-1 away record. Tonight I like the Blue Jackets, a nice revenge game and chance to take over the top of the Metro.
Vegas Golden Knights(17-9-1) vs Nashville Predators(18-7-3)
This is a game I do not even want to get into, honestly, the Predators at home are going to win. They are 8-1-1 in their last ten and 11-2-0 at home, no shot Vegas hands them a loss. The Predators depth offensively through the middle, depth on the back end and sturdy number one goalie, are looking to make another run back to the Stanley Cup. Vegas is 7-3-0 in their last ten and post a 6-7-1 away record. I’m going Nashville tonight.
Buffalo Sabres(7-17-4) vs Chicago Blackhawks(12-11-5)
I feel so bad for this Buffalo team, the other night they just had one of their defenseman score the first goal of the year for Buffalo defenseman, they are officially shopping players and look to be done. Buffalo is not as bad as it looks, but they just never click consistently, they struggle offensively, between Eichel, Kane, Pominville no one on this team has done much thus far. The Blackhawks need to see production in their top six, Kane and Toews have been relatively quiet all year and right now Chicago sits outside a playoff spot. A must win for Chicago. Going Hawks.
Minnesota Wild(13-11-3) vs Anaheim Ducks(12-11-6)
The Ducks are doing everything in their power to hang on for just a few more weeks, this whole season they have dealt with numerous defenseman getting hurt, three of their six top forwards getting hurt, and just have not stayed healthy. The Ducks are a resilient team and somehow have found ways to get it done. In the last ten, the Ducks are 3-4-3 with a 7-7-2 home record. The Wild also have dealt with some serious injuries but their defense has stayed intact all season and they got back two of their top forwards while seeing Jason Zucker and Eric Staal step up in big moments. Overall a solid team but they currently sit outside a playoff spot just like Anaheim, therefore this game is a big one for both clubs. The Wild are 5-4-1 in their last ten with a 5-8-1 road record. Tonight I am going Wild.
