Blues third loss in four games raise some concerns…

Winnipeg welcomed the struggling St. Louis Blues to their home ice for another Central division showdown. Coming into this game both the Jets and Blues have been struggling and the Jets recent woes are unknown and unforeseen, due to their healthy roster and fiery offense. But St. Louis have been without the Jaden Schwartz and Alex Pietrangelo for the last four meetings before Sunday nights match up.

Onto, to the game. The Jets blanked the Blues 4-0, goal scorers for the night were, Adam Lowry, Patrik Laine, Mark Scheifele, and Josh Morrisey. Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 24 shots St. Louis threw towards the net. This was Hellebuyck 17th win of the year and brings his goals against to 2.45 on the year. Many believe the Jets recent woes, maybe them coming back to reality and this shutout win may be the answer fans were looking for.

Since the loss of their top performers, St. Louis has definitely seen some struggles, as they have dropped three of their last four games and without Schwartz, Vladimir¬†Tarasenko has totaled, 1 assist, and Braydon Schenn has totaled, also 1 assist. I guess it is fair to say that the Blues miss their top line producing right now. This is a tad concerning, due to the fact Schwartz is expected to miss 4-6 weeks and the Blues do not look too promising right now. I’m sure many can agree after watching that Vladimir Sobotka¬†empty net miss vs Tampa Bay last week.

The Jets recent struggles is just a bump in the road, happens to every good team and they will be fine when a team has an offense like Winnipeg it is tough to really ever be out of it. Hellebuyck has shown to be a #1 goalie right now and hopefully(which I think he will) can continue this the Jets will be fine and make a deep run into the playoffs.
