Anaheim Ducks(14-12-8) vs New York Rangers(18-12-3)

The Rangers are playing much better hockey as of late and have found themselves tied for a wild card spot posting identical record as the Islanders. Right now the Rangers are on a two-game winning streak and also get Mika Zibanejad back tonight. The Ducks dropped a tough one on Adam Henrique’s return to the Rock Monday night, and continue their road trip with the Rangers, Islanders and, Penguins this week. Going back to back is tough for Anaheim but tonight we will see starter John Gibson in net, and a healthier Ducks line up. The Rangers are 6-3-1 in their last ten and 13-5-3 at home this season. The Ducks are 4-2-2 in their last ten and 6-5-5 on the road and currently sit two points out of a playoff spot. This game will be a close game and a game where the Rangers may control possession having fresh legs. Tonight I am going Rangers.

Detroit Red Wings(12-13-7) vs New York Islanders(18-12-3)

Assuming Tomas Greiss is getting the nod tonight as he has been the “better” goalie of the two but still, the Islanders lack a goaltender and right now that has not hurt them but later in the road it may come back to haunt the Islanders. The Islanders have a top offense in the league right now, with three top point scorers and two players in the top for goals scored. This Islanders team is an exciting bunch and should definitely be the choice tonight. The Islanders are 4-5-1 in their last ten but post a league-high 10-2-2 at home. Despite the Islanders recent struggles they should be fine tonight. The Red Wings are a young, inconsistent team still looking for that top performer, two rookies, Mantha and Anthasiau have stood out this year but have not been able to do it consistently. Their top point scorer is Dylan Larkin with 24 points and leading scorer is Mantha with 12 goals. Another team that lacks goaltending consistency, and also runs the two goalie system, that has never worked for anyone. The Red Wings are 2-4-4 in their last ten with an away record of 6-7-1. Going Islanders tonight.

Boston Bruins(16-10-5) vs Buffalo Sabres(8-18-7)

This game will be displayed on NBCSN tonight for a divisional battle but in reality, it is not much of a battle. Although the Bruins are going back to back tonight and starting Anton Khudobin, they have been red hot and have two players that are lights out right now. Brad Marchand and David Pasternak are both on point streaks tallying 14 points over those point streaks. Marchand has 14 points in 9 games and Pasternak has 14 points in 12 games. A healthy Bruins team is deadly right now. The Sabres cannot seem to fight their way out of a paper bag and just cannot catch a break this season. When Robin Lehner plays well they can’t score or help him out, when he doesn’t they can score, but it’s already too late. The Sabres have a ton of talent in Evander Kane, Jack Eichel, James Pominville, Ryan O’Reilly and Rasmus Ristolananen to name a few but cannot seem to gel. The Sabres in their last ten are 2-5-3 with one of the worst home records posting a 4-9-2 record. The Bruins are 6-3-1 in their last ten and post a 6-5-2 away record. Going Boston tonight.

Montreal Canadiens(14-15-4) vs Vancouver Canucks(15-15-4)

Everything seemed so right for Vancouver, then they lost Sven Beartschi, then Bo Horvat and now Brock Boeser slowly but surely the wheels are falling off the wagon for Vancouver. In their last ten, they are 4-6-0 and post a 6-8-3 home record. Hoping the Sedin brothers, and Sam Gagner can pick it up or else this team is in trouble. Although the Canadiens are not a promising team right now as they have been inconsistent and unable to find a good stretch and run from there. They recently lost Shea Weber for an extended time and we don’t know when he will be back as that hurts the Canadiens already fragile blueline. In the last ten, Montreal is 6-3-1 and post a 5-8-1 away record. Going Montreal tonight.

Tampa Bay Lightning(24-6-2) vs Vegas Golden Knights(21-9-2)

Two of the top teams in the NHL face off tonight, this would be one of hell of a game for the NHL to stream on NBCSN but unfortunately, most of us may not be able to watch the game. Lightning are looking to be getting that scoring touch back and offensive firepower they need. They do go into a strong home team and hot Vegas team, this game will not be easy and could even see extra time. The Lightning are 8-2-0 in their last ten with a league-best 11-4-1 away record. Vegas continues to surprise everyone making their way in the super 16 rankings, being a top 5 team in the NHL right now and seeing production from guys we would have never imagined to do this. Everything is clicking in Vegas but, I’m afraid the Lightning are going to need to come in here and show if they really are capable of being the best in the league by taking off one of the best home teams in the league. Going Lightning tonight.

Other games on tonight

Jets vs Predators: WOW this is going to be an amazing game. No idea, probably Predators just because at home.

Capitals vs Stars: Capitals
