St. Louis Blues(31-18-3) vs Boston Bruins(29-11-8)

The Blues are coming off a win Tuesday night vs Montreal, as the Bruins are coming off a loss on home ice vs Anaheim. The Bruins 18-point streak got snapped Tuesday, I mean we had to see this coming fresh off an All-Star break, Marchand and McAvoy out. Anyways the story out St. Louis is the play of Carter Hutton he has started in now nine games straight and has picked up 7 wins a 1.73 GAA  and .943 save percentage over the last month. While Jake Allen the “starter” has been left ice cold. But, tonight Jake Allen returns to the pipes, so I am 1000% going Boston tonight, a cold goalie, home ice, losing for their first time in regulation in god knows how long. They will be all over the cold goaltender. Bruins, smash it.

Philadelphia Flyers(24-18-8) vs New Jersey Devils(25-16-8)

Tonight features a neighboring match up between two teams battling for a spot among the Metro’s top. The Flyers are coming off a game from Wednesday night which they lost to Metro leading Washington, as the Devils beat the leagues worst Tuesday night. The story out of tonight is that prospect goaltender, Alex Lyon will be getting the nod for Philly. A bold move from Dave Hakstol, battling for a wild card spot and they go with a young goalie. Lyon has played 24 games this year for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, posting a 2.90 goals against, he did play at Yale for three years posting a career 1.89 goals against. We’ll see tonight. These two have already met two times prior to this meeting and the Flyers hold the season series at 2-0. Already beating New Jersey at home in the January, will have some factor into this, but with a young goaltender I am not too confident in the Flyers. Or Lyon can come out on fire, Kinkaid is also another reason to go Flyers tonight as he has not been all that amazing. Kinkaid has started in 13 games posting an 8-4-2 record with a 3.11 GAA and .897 save percentage this year. Tonight I am going Flyers.

Vegas Golden Knights(33-12-4) vs Winnipeg Jets(30-13-8)

A battle of the top, Winnipeg goes up against another leagues best now, after taking down Tampa Bay Tuesday night, they face off against Vegas. Vegas is coming off a nice come from behind victory on the road against another one of the leagues top opponents. This team continues to impress this year. An extremely hungry offense, a defense that actually looks to be a top tier core in the league, they also only allow 128 goals while scoring 166, that is incredible among the leagues top goal differential. Winnipeg themselves are coming off a win vs the NHL’s best team right now and also do a fair share of scoring themselves, burying 165 goals for while only allowing 135, two teams very similar in the rankings and in terms of production. But as much as these two score we can expect a 3-2, 2-1 game I think, both goaltenders will come to play and it will be a very defensive game. Vegas on the road has not been all that great but we cannot just write them off, I’m still going Winnipeg tonight.

Los Angeles Kings(27-18-5) vs Nashville Predators(29-12-7)

The NBCSN game of the night, therefore I have to write about it, if it wasn’t NBCSN game, I probably wouldn’t bother cause I know the outcome already. We can expect both goaltenders to go tonight, Quick vs Rinne that is. The Predators are a team that is one of the best on home ice only losing five games all year. The thing with this match up though is that Nashville has 142 goals for and 121 against while the Kings have 140 for and 121 against. This will of course be a close one, but with the second stretch coming the Predators know how important every game is, they want to be a Stanley Cup team it comes from burying games like this with ease. Tonight I am going Preds.

Colorado Avalanche(27-18-4) vs Edmonton Oilers(22-24-3)

The Avalanche will be without Nathan MacKinnon the Hart nominee this will be a major blunder to their roster and MacKinnon’s chances for the Hart. The Av’s have lost three straight now, coming off an overtime loss to Vancouver Tuesday night and the Oilers are playing in their first game back since the break. I don’t know if you are aware but Cam Talbot claimed the Oilers are going to make playoffs and play as if every game is their last. I am interested to see how the 18-17-2, 3.14 GAA and .901 save percentage goalie will back up his talk. The Oilers are not making the playoffs so Talbot will look extremely idiotic after they don’t and they will lose tonight vs Avalanche as well. The Av’s got the cobwebs off from the break, while the Oilers have yet to dust them off at all this season. MacKinnon in or out of the lineup won’t matter vs a team like the Oilers. On the road or not, I am not confident in Edmonton’s play, shut down or slow down McDavid, you win. Going Avalanche tonight.

Other games on tonight…

Canadiens vs Hurricanes: CANES

Ducks vs Senators: Ducks

Lightning vs Flames: Flames in OT

Blackhawks vs Canucks: Blackhawks
