Buffalo Sabres(25-41-12) vs Toronto Maple Leafs(47-25-7)

This game would seem like it would mean nothing and just be a throwaway game especially at this point in the season, but Buffalo snapped Toronto’s home game win streak last time they played and the game before that on Mar. 16, the Leafs and Sabres went at it. It is safe to say these two do not like each other and with the season series in Buffalo’s favor 2-1, with it returning to Toronto, no way Toronto losses. The Leafs are 7-3-1 in their last ten coming off a loss to Winnipeg, as the Sabres are 3-6-1 coming off a huge win over Nashville. The Leafs are in a playoff spot as the Sabres are in the top five for a draft pick this year. Completely different scenarios one team is way better than the other but for some reason, the Sabres come out to play every time they see the Leafs on the schedule. It won’t matter who is net for either team, the Sabres want to win this season series and will play like its game seven of the cup and the Leafs know it. Mike Babcock came out last time they played and said this team is going to give it their all, the Leafs are aware and I am going Toronto tonight.

Carolina Hurricanes(35-33-11) vs Florida Panthers(39-30-8)

The Panthers have really dug themselves into a deep hole, they are now seven points behind the Devils with 6 games to play, it is almost impossible for this team to sneak in. With a loss tonight we can guarantee this team is out of the race. The Hurricanes come into this game under the same impression, barely breathing above the .500 mark and just happy they are doing a tad better than last year. The Hurricanes are 5-5-0 in their last ten coming off a loss to the Islanders and playing mediocre hockey, typical Carolina hockey. As the Panthers are 5-4-1 coming off a loss to the Bruins and if they want to even have a shot at the playoffs this is a must-win game for them. It is not out of the question but it will be very hard to see this team sneak in. I think we see the Panthers win this game they understand how important it is and they will play very desperately.

Washington Capitals(47-25-7) vs St. Louis Blues(43-29-6)

The Capitals have clinched the Metropolitan division yet again with their win over Pittsburgh Sunday night. The Capitals have not been talked about as much this season but they have been scary good this year and a really consistent team that has played well all year. With the play of Ovechkin and Kuznetsov, the Capitals have enjoyed a high powered offense centered around these two. We can expect to see these two doing their usual here tonight as well expect this game comes at a very important time for the Blues as they are now one point out of a playoff spot with just four games to play. The Blues recent play gas surged them into a playoff spot and with Jake Allen actually playing well and a 7-2-1 record in their last ten the Blues are going to be tough to beat here tonight. The Capitals go from Pittsburgh to St.Louis in a back to back and will have a very quick turn around that is. I don’t see them coming out too hard, with the playoffs around the corner they want to keep a healthy roster. The Blues are desperate and hungry and at home they are a solid team, can’t see the Blues dripping this one, going Blues.

Colorado Avalanche(42-28-9) vs Los Angeles Kings(43-28-8)

Major playoff implicating game the Kings are now in the first wild-card spot and the Av’s are in the second, Kings lead the Av’s by one point but the Av’s also have the Blues on their tail by one point and they play tonight on St. Louis, as the Avalanche are coming off a back to back and a disappointing overtime loss they need this game bad to stay afloat in this race. They lose this game it will be hard for them to make the playoffs. Coming into tonight’s game this will be the 80th game for the Av’s with two games to play after that. The Kings as well, expect the Kings are lucky this on home ice and they are coming off a day and a half of rest. Kings are coming off an overtime loss to Anaheim as well just like Colorado, the Kings are 5-3-2 in their last ten as the Av’s are 5-4-1. We can expect to see Av’s back up goalie as Jontahn Brenier went Sunday night I am not sure if they will go him tonight, it would make sense but depends on Brenier and the head coach. Kings go Quick obviously and that is all I have to say about this game. All past records between these two will mean nothing this is essentially a do or die game and a playoff type game. Tonight I am going, Kings.

Other games on tonight… (that mean nothing)

Jets vs Senators: Jets, I’d hope.

Oilers vs Wild: Wild, I’d hope.
