It’s Friyay (Friday), you have three days(including tonight) to make a push for a victory in your fantasy hockey league. Moving forward for the rest of the year we will be doing this same thing every week. A fantasy hockey waiver wire push article edition. Where I will give my top waiver wire players to go after, it can be a goal scorer, play maker, guy who registers hits or shots on goal or even them all! Enjoy!
David Perron: Perron does a little bit of everything he has 9 points in 9 games with 5 goals and 4 assists, he plays top six minutes as well and power play two. Perron is known for his playmaking ability but paired with Ryan O’Reilly now he has found the back of the net more often. Perron and the Blues play one more time this week vs Chicago Saturday. He is also owned in 32% of leagues.
Justin Williams: Williams is known to be a player that shares the wealth he has 7 helpers on the year already. He plays top six minutes along Jordan Staal and Warren Foegele as well as power play two. Williams sees around 18 minutes a game and the best part about him right now is that he plays Friday night and Sunday. Also, owned in 23% of leagues.
Adam Lowry: Lowry has been off to an unexpected start, I do not see this is to be a constant for him, he may be an inconsistent at best type of player you hold onto for maybe 3 weeks at most. Lowry has 4 goals and 1 assist he also chips in on the hit and shots on goal category a bit. He is a third line center right now with not much room to move up with who is in front of him. Positive though he plays Friday and Saturday. Owned in 17% of leagues.
James Pominville: Pominville is coming off a 2 goal night vs Montreal Thursday. After getting promoted to the first line with Jeff Skinner and Jack Eichel, Pominville registered big time and will more than likely stay there vs Columbus on Saturday. So far he has 4 goals, 3 assists and 19 shots on goal. Downside he only plays one more time this week. Also, owned in 5% of leagues.
David Krejci: Not much more than assists from this guy. Krejci has certainly taken the role of playmaker over in Boston. He plays alongside two very young wingers who are still learning the game but the positive about that is that he plays around 17 minutes a game with two capable wingers. So far he has 2 goals, 7 assists and 2 power play points. Downside he only plays one more time vs Montreal Saturday. Also, owned in 18% of leagues.
Chris Tierney: Similar to Krejci, Tierney has the same numbers, 2 goals and 7 assists but also 4 power play points. He averages around 17:55 minutes per game and plays with Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel. Two very good wingers who can score. Tierney also plays Friday and Sunday so you’ll get two games out of him for the week. Also, owned in 21% of leagues.
Alexander Kerfoot: Kerfoot has been a guy, I personally have been adding/dropping every week, he does not provide a ton of value only seeing around 14 minutes a game but he does have 1 goal and 5 assists this year with 19 shots on goal. Positive, he plays Friday night and Saturday. Also, owned in 8% of leagues.
Joonas Donskoi: Donskoi is a third line right winger, averaging around 13:50 minutes per game, even playing so few minutes Donskoi has made the most of them so far tallying 3 goals, 4 assists and 4 power play points. Upside to him he has two games in three days, playing Friday night and Sunday. As well his minutes have increased over the last three games from 11 minutes to 13 minutes. Also, owned in 12% of leagues.
Andreas Athanasiou: Athanasiou has 3 goals and 2 assists on the year, playing on a struggling Red Wings team right now there is not much upside but he does play second line, expect it is with two veteran, slower wingers. Really the big use for Athanasiou is if you need shots on goal, Anthanasiou is your guy, plus/minus wise do not go after Anthanasiou. Has upside playing 16+ minutes a game and has registered 29 shots on goal this year. Also, owned in 6% of leagues.
Boone Jenner: Not much upside he registered 2 goals Thursday night making it his real only fantasy impact this year. He does shoot a ton, with 31 shots on goal, also does hit a decent amount with 15 hits. If you need shots or hits he may be your guy. Plays Saturday only. Owned in 19% of leagues.
Brooks Orpik: Really will do nothing else for you but if you need hits, he is your guy with 29 on the year and playing 17+ minutes a game Orpik is definitely certain for 4-5 hits a night. Plays Saturday that’s all. Owned in 5% of leagues.
Ryan Reaves: We all know what we are doing on the waiver wire when we are looking for Ryan Reaves we are down in the hits category and need a grinder. Well, Reaves is your guy with around 5+ hits a game and 39 hits on the year already. Major upside to his games coming on Friday night and Sunday. Also, owned in 4% of leagues.
