Fantasy Hockey Rising Stars & Players On The Decline…

Fantasy Hockey Rising Stars:

Tomas Hertl: After Hertl’s hattrick vs Washington Tuesday night he now has 8-goals in the last 12 games, two hattricks five games apart and 16 points in the last month of play. Hertl is paired with Evander Kane and Joonas Donskoi on the second line as well as on power play one. With this recent scoring-spree it seems Hertl is on the rise and making his presence in the league more well-known. Hertl now has 22 goals and 23 assists on the year.

Jonathan Toews: After a unsuccessful 2017-18 season, the captain has bounced back the way we all expected him to. Toews was under some criticism for per saying “losing a step” but I think after his last 12-game tear we can all agree that is not true. In the last 12 games he has 6 goals and 9 assists, recording a point in every game except for two games. Toews has 22 goals and 26 assists on the year now.

Mika Zibanejad: The Rangers number one forward/center is slowly becoming fan favorite in New York. Zibanejad has been off to a nice start this season and it seems like he is involved in almost every scoring play. Zibanejad has recorded 6 goals and 8 assists in the last 12 games. On the year he has 17 goals and 27 assists, be aware of what happens with the Rangers line up over the next two weeks. If they do trade Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Hayes, Zibanejad stock may drop a lot.

Ryan Dzingel: Since coming back from injury, Dzingel has been fitting in nicely with the Senators roster. Dzingel has recorded 7 goals and 6 assists in the last 12-games. Dzingel is lined up with Bobby Ryan and Matt Duchene right now, if he continues to stay with that line he is a sure fantasy asset. He also plays power play one. Dzingel has 20 goals and 18 assists on the year.

Dylan Strome: The trickle affect of playing with Alex Debrincat and Patrick Kane will push Strome’s value up a ton. Strome is playing line two with Debrincat and Dominik Kahun but does play power play one with Kane, Toews and Debrincat. Strome has recorded five points in his last two games but in the last month has 3 goals, 9 assists and 5 power play points. Strome has 12 goals and 15 assists on the year.

Fantasy Hockey Players on the Decline:

Jakub Vrana: Since Vrana’s 3 goals in back to back games January 8th & 10th he has been scoreless and almost non existent in the Capitals roster. Vrana has recorded 3 goals in the last month and 4 assists. Vrana is playing top six minutes on a high-powered offense therefore it is a little concerning to fantasy owners to see Vrana not playing well. Vrana has 15 goals and 13 assists on the year.

Rasmus Ristolainen: Since the Sabres decline so has Ristolainen declined. Ristolainen has 5 goals and 25 assists on the year and in the last month he has 5 assists with 1 goal. Ristolainen is playing power play one and top-four minutes. As the Sabres continue to decline Ristolainen is not as valuable as he was at the beginning of the year.

Mikael Granlund: Granlund has been quiet for a very long time now and it is certainly hurting the Wild’s offense. Granlund has 12 goals and 27 assists on the year but in the last month he has recorded just 1 goal and 1 assist and is currently on a 8-game goal less/ pointless drought.

Josh Anderson: One of the Blue Jackets top-scorers has been a drought for a little bit now. Anderson has scored just 2 goals in the last month and just five points. Anderson is also on a 7-game scoring drought. Anderson has 15 goals on the year and if the Blue Jackets want to be a playoff team making a deep run, players like this will need to step-up.

Kyle Palmieri: The Devils All-Star selection and top player has been a drought. A player who is usually in the mix of every Devils scoring play has been rather non-existent over the last month. Palmieri has 3 goals and 1 assist in the last month of play.
