Dennis Smith Jr. May Be A Diamond In The Rough For The Knicks

In Friday night’s loss vs the Pistons, Knicks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. scored a career-high 31 points and dished out 8 assists to his new teammates.

Dennis isn’t missing a beat after being traded from the Mavericks during the trade deadline. Coach David Fizdale has placed his trust in the young guard and it is showing in his recent play as a Knick.

“I’m enjoying playing basketball not enjoying losing, but I’m having fun going out there and competing,” Dennis said after Pistons game.

In Dennis’ first 3 games as a Knick, he is averaging 21.3 points and 6.7 assists on 46% from the field. Dennis has shown that he is already the best player on this team and is connecting with his team.

On the other hand, Dennis still struggles with shooting the basketball as he misses free throws and is shooting below 30% from 3 so far with the Knicks.

If Dennis finds a consistent shooting stroke, the Knicks may not need Kyrie Irving in the summer. Shooting is the key factor that will elevate Dennis’ game.

The Knicks let go of some big pieces during the trade deadline, Kristaps Porzingis being the biggest loss, but Dennis is already showing the potential that he can grow into a star and be the best player on a team.

The Knicks are looking forward to the summer as the draft and free agency takes place. They must look at the possibilities if Zion Williamson, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving don’t land there. Do the Knicks believe that Dennis can be a big-time player for them?

Free NBA Picks for February 12th, 2018

Saturday, we saw the Wizards control the Bulls easily covering the spread, same with the Warriors as it looked close at the start but blew it out towards the end. The Lake Show kept it close, but lost in the last few minutes not covering the elusive +1.5.

8-4-1 over the past 5 days.

3 more tonight after a Sunday off.

Pistons -2.5 vs the New Orleans Pelicans

917104520.jpg.0

The Pistons have been slumping the past 2 games taking the L against the Hawks and Clippers. The Pelicans seemed to figure it out last game as they took the W over the Nets in double OT. Both teams are 5-5 the past 10. The last time the Pelicans played the Pistons, the Pelicans won by 3. That was with D-Boogie of course, and without Blake Griffin for the Pistons. If Blake Griffin doesn’t struggle mightily shooting tonight, the Pistons should be able to cover and beat the Pelicans by 4 or 5. It should be a close game throughout the whole way, considering the Pelicans are trying to win without D-Boogie. The Pistons need to play like a dominant home team tonight to take down the Pelicans.

Jazz -4.5 vs the San Antonio Spurs

Utah Jazz v Minnesota Timberwolves

This game will be pretty close. The Jazz are riding a 9 game winning streak going 9-1 the past 10. The Spurs are 5-5 the past 10. Yesterday it seemed like the Jazz were going to lose, but after halftime the Jazz easily came back and coasted to an impressive W over the Trail Blazers. I can see the Jazz carrying that over here tonight. It should be a close game though considering the Spurs are an excellent team that fits around the scheme of Popovich. I see the Jazz staying hot at home, winning by 6 or 7.

P.S. Donovan Mitchell is an animal.

Clippers -4.5 vs the Brooklyn Nets

770_n

The Nets are on a 5 game losing streak, going 1-9 the past 10 games. The Nets look to play well at home against a Clippers team who has a lot of uncertainty around them. The Clips are 5-5 the last 10, winning the last 3 of 4. DeAndre Jordan should have a huge game tonight, matching up against Jarret Allen and Jahlil Okafor. Lou Will should have a huge game as well. The Nets will matchup against the Clips at some point during the game, but the Clips should finish the Nets easily covering the spread minus any surprises or runs.

good-luck

Free NBA Picks for January 30th, 2018

Last night we saw the Pacers win by 9 easily covering the spread. We also saw the Celts top the Nuggets by 1, not needing the spread which went up to +2 on some sites for the Celts.

The Suns started off good, but fell hard in the 2nd after giving up 42 points in a quarter.

I have 4 Pick suggestions for tonight’s card

pg13jpg-7439e43970323564

Thunder -3.0 vs the Washington Wizards

The Thunder are continuing to dominate the NBA in the month of January.

They are 5-0 past 5 games, 8-2 past 10. John Wall was declared out for the next couple weeks as well. The Wizards have been noted to play worse against teams that are worse than them, but without Wall; the Wizards may be screwed for those 2 weeks.

Westbrook, Pg13, and Melo are going to eat tonight.

Timberwolves +6.0 vs the Toronto Raptors

Minnesota Timberwolves v Golden State Warriors

Both teams enter tonight’s matchup looking to get back on track. The Raptors are 5-5 the past 10 along with the T-Wolves. The Raptors at home however are 18-4 at home this season.

The T-Wolves beat the Raptors at home by 6 on January 20th, which isn’t long ago.

I have a feeling that the T-wolves could be losing the elite game, but should be able to push hard enough to cover the spread, possibly losing. Wouldn’t surprise me if the T-Wolves upset tonight as well.

Cavs -5.5 vs the Detroit Pistons

LeBron-James

The Cavs are having their worst season under LeBron James as the entire team just looks off. It shouldn’t be a surprise to readers; the dissension going on in Cleveland is real.

The Pistons are coming off a blockbuster trade in which they acquired Blake Griffin from the Clippers, in order to make a push for the East. Griffin won’t be in the lineup tonight and same with Avery Bradley and Tobias Harris as they also have been traded in part of the deal.

The Pistons are 1-9 the past 10 games.

Take the Cavs and the points to beat the Pistons. The Pistons will need a great game from everyone if they aim to take down the second best in the East.

Trail Blazers -2.5 vs the Los Angeles Clippers

2015-01-15-0b-DamianLilla.ea18a

The final pick is of course my favorite matchup of the night, the late night game.

The Clippers traded Blake Griffin yesterday in order to soften the landing spot for LBJ in the offseason. It’s also rumored that Lou Williams and DeAndre Jordan may be on their way as well, as the Clips look to move on from Griffin and Chris Paul.

The Clips are 7-3 the past 10, compared to Portland who is 6-4.

With Griffin on another team, I think the Clips will have to learn how to play without that constant production forever, as opposed to a short duration of time. The shooters on the Trail Blazers are amazing consisting of Damian Lillard and C.J McCollum.

Jursuf Nurkic has a big matchup tonight as he’ll be matched up with DeAndre Jordan who averages almost 15 RPG.

The Clips could perform better without Blake Griffin. But that feeling in the locker room that no one is safe should play a major part in the mental game for tonight which is why I love the Trail Blazers at -2.5.

Good luck!

Updated NBA Late Night Card for January 24th, 2018

Celtics +1.0 against the Los Angeles Clippers

Behind the power of Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum, the Celts should have enough fire power to combat the Clippers.

Even with Al Horford out, I think the Celts will manage to pull out the victory here.

DeAndre Jordan was originally Out, but will go ahead and play tonight.

The pick doesn’t change, even with a healthy/hobbled DeAndre Jordan; the game should be close but the Celts won’t lose with their talent

The Clippers best chance at winning is their full team. DeAndre Jordan will be a tough matchup. But the Celts have proven to be poised in big games.

The Celts will have a tough test tonight in LA

FREE NBA PICK: Late Night card for 1/22/18

Timberwolves +2.0 at the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers have been more than an average team, winning 4 out of the last 5. But without DeAndre Jordan, that inside glass defense could struggle mightily against Karl Anthony Towns.

DeAndre Jordan is out and I like KAT’s matchup, as well the help all around him with Jimmy Butler, Giorgi Dieng, and Andrew Wiggins.

Taj Gibson and Tyus Jones will also provide huge depth relief for the T-wolves tonight as they play a tough but worn LA Clipper team.

Either ride the wave or fade it to black, I love the matchup tonight
